Thaddeus Arroyo

Thaddeus Arroyo, CEO AT&T Mexico, is responsible for development of AT&T’s products and services, digital experiences for customers, and systems supporting the operations across AT&T business segments, networks, and services.  Arroyo is also responsible for information and network security strategy, standards and platform development.

Arroyo has successfully advanced AT&T’s technology transformation strategy from integration, rationalization, and capabilities development to an innovation-fueled organization focused on transforming business processes and market offerings in ways that create new value and velocity for AT&T’s business, customers, and partners.  Under Arroyo’s leadership, AT&T has been consistently recognized for thought leadership and creativity in technology innovation and execution.  Awards include the Information Week 500 for six consecutive years and the CIO 100 Award in seven of the last eight years.  AT&T was also recognized by Computerworld as one of the 100 best companies to work for in IT for 2014, 2013 and 2012, and by the American Business Awards as the 2009 IT Department of the Year.

He was appointed to his current position in September 2014.  Previously, Arroyo served as AT&T’s chief information officer, beginning in January 2007 following the close of the merger between AT&T, BellSouth and Cingular.  Prior to joining AT&T, Arroyo served as chief information officer at Cingular Wireless and prior to that he served as senior vice president of Product Marketing and Development for Sabre Corporation.  His responsibilities included infrastructure development, deployment, strategic planning, and data network services.  Prior to joining Sabre, Arroyo was employed in Southwestern Bell’s IT organization.

Arroyo is an active board member for the National Center for Women & Information Technology and the Hispanic IT Executive Council.  He is a Governance Fellow with the National Association of Corporate Directors and serves on the SMU Cox School of Business Executive Advisory Board.  Arroyo has a bachelor’s degree in mathematics from the University of Texas at Arlington, and a Master’s of Business Administration from Southern Methodist University.
